Annual events

Shofar Factory
We invite you to get your hands a little dirty and experience the ancient art of shofar making. We are sure parents will love the sounds of their kids practicing to blow their very own shofar that they made themselves.

Shaking Sukkot
Shake the lulav and smell the fresh citrus smell of the etrog as palm fronds shade your delicious meal in the community sukkah. Join us to celebrate this ancient holiday and spread the joy of Sukkot.

Picture
Simchat Torah Party
Come dance with the Torah! The celebration starts in the evening and continues the next day with dancing, meals, an auction for the honors of the holiday, and of course programming just for the kids.

Community Wide Candle Lighting
Whether it's the steps of city hall or the front mall of the Capitol, join us to light the Chanukkah Menorah with the honored guest of the year.  Past honorees have included Mayor Steve Adler, City Councilor Allison Alter, and Governor Greg Abbott.

Purim Extravaganza
Come watch the students of HPS put on a Purim play, get your face painted, bounce in the bounce house, eat some hamentashen, make a mask, and get in your costume as we join together to hear the story of Esther. The night before we join together to enjoy a big community meal and hear the Megillah. Join us for both!

Model Matzoh Bakery
An increasing number of children from all walks of Jewish life touch, feel and learn about ancient Passover traditions at model matzah bakeries.  The model matzah bakery is part of a chain of hundreds of similar ones around the world.
